Choosing Cheap Computer Cases

You would not find computer cases for cheap if you don’t know sufficiently the one you effectively need.

The computer case is the enclosure that supports all the components of a computer. It’s also called chassis, box or housing.

Others say it is the skin of the computer. Anyway it’s an important part which requires some basic information to facilitate a good choice.

Format and Size: There are two types of computer cases:

-The desktop case, or flatbed, or horizontal case, which allows you to save space by placing the monitor on the top. Modern desktop format is often used with flat-screen monitor and they are most popular in some businesses like laboratory.

However they are too compact and don’t offer sufficient space to insert other extensions (cards, dual hard disk…).

The tower case is designed to sit beside the monitor or on the floor. Tower cases are taller and can hold many extensions. It’s actually the most used because it offers more place than the desktop.

They are three sizes of towers:1) mini-tower which is the most popular and most affordable to be placed on the desk because of its size (only 1.5 to 2 feet high); 2)the mid-tower(or mid-sized tower) a little shorter than the full-tower(or full-sized tower) which is the big one (2 to 3 feet high).

Specific Shapes: They are only two main specific shapes (also known as form factors): AT (Advanced Technology), the old format and ATX (Advanced Technology Extended), released by Intel and designed so that all external connectors (Serial ports, USB ports, etc) have the same disposition on the motherboard.

ATX is actually the most popular form factor.

NOTICE- It’s important to make sure that your motherboard matches with your cheap computer cases. Remember: the AT form factor requires motherboard and power supply accommodate. The ATX cases are built for ATX motherboard.

Some cases such as aluminum, acrylic, colored AMD clear, wood and water cooled cases are not really so cheap. If you are in a budget don't think about them, find preferably some good computer cases for cheap.
