Removing the computer case cover

All you need to remove the cover is a Phillips screwdriver. For some models it won’t be necessary. Pay attention not to broke the case and void its warranty. In that case you’ll only have to order a new one.

In some conventional desktop and tower cases you’ll find the screws on the back along the edge. Using the screwdriver, you’ll easily remove these three, sometimes six, screws and remove the cover. For a tower pull back gently the top cover and with the tower simply push it forward.

In other cases you’ll locate the screws on the front and it could be very difficult for you to remove their cover. You may find the screws after lifting out the small plastic doors on the sides of your computer case. Look at the back if there are not any additional screws to loose.

Maybe your case only has a single screw. Look at the top and the bottom of the case, lose the screw and from the front, slide off the cover or push it forward to remove it.

Maybe your case comes with a screwless design. Then you’ll need some muscle to pull off the cover while holding the front of the PC case. You can even find a similar case where you’ll need to remove the case simply by sliding the sides off.

Finally don’t forget to put the screws in a quiet place to use them after installing your parts.
